Bites Tale : He went outstation and we spoke on the phone last nite, hung up.. then suddenly he rang back again, he said he wants to protest... i was wondering what is it.. he told me he was reading the meme i wrote... he said :"Name a friend whose name starts with the letter A, Annie; Name a friend whose name starts with the letter K, None.. Can't think of any.."; I said :"ya... so??", then he asked:"what's my name ah????"... We laughed.. I reply:"Gosh... i only remember your nickname bah!".. LOL :P

This is not something unusual for those Female Magazine's readers.

But this year's contest is sure something unusual to me... because,

One of my online buddy is on the list! She is not an ordinary online buddy... i have been a sliding ghost at her blog for more than a year... until i admit i'm addicted to her... and dropped her a comment at her blog.. that's how we started to be online buddies.. and No, she doesn't blog about recipesss... but yes, she blogs about food and her life... as well as her thoughts!

You could see that she's really pretty... if not, she won't be able to be in the running of the contest.. but to me, she's more than a pretty face... she always give me an impression of being "Genuine"... she's just a normal student who can really speaks out what's she thinks... (I could never do that when i was younger... even now is still a bit difficult for me)

Bites Tale : The lunch went on smoothly... i didn't tripped or made myself look silly.. his family was quiet but nice, and his bro keeps taking our photos ;P ...... I'm going to miss him as he went outstation again...

One of my online buddy voted me in one of those social website that i'm most likely to sing in the bathroom... i can't stand it but to laugh...

My mum loves Nestle Kit Kat Wafer Bar a lot.. so every one who knows that will definitely get her some Kit Kats when visiting her... but i was really surprised when one of her friend from Brunei gave her this :

Bites Tale : At 1st, I was so disappointed because the 8" long hot dog is out of stock (again!!!)! I should have called.... Luckily, the 6" cheesy chicken hot dog can "compensate" me... ;)

Tempted?

Went on last saturday to get those long waited hot dogs... we ordered 6" beef hot dog and 6" cheesy chicken hot dog..

At 1st we were feeling kinda strange when we see the owner prepared the hot dogs... we just couldn't help but to ask : "How come there is no lectuce? or even cucumber slice and tomato slice?". He explained to us that there's no need to put anything else apart from hot dog and some chili/tomato sauce plus some mustard, simply because that's what a hot dog should be.. like what we'll get in US.. no lectuce, no cucumber slices and no tomato slices.. that way we can really sample how the hot dog tasted like.

So we wait patiently... and took a bite..

My, my.... it's so juicy! You might be asking : "Now, where is the cheese? since i ordered cheesy chicken hot dog!!"... hahaha... the answer, they put the cheese inside when they do the hot dog! So you don't ask the owner - "Where Is My CHEESE???"... (Shy, shy... i did!)

We also ordered a cup of Vanilla Cappucinno each person and i love it! I can even smell the vanilla when he is preparing... goes perfectly with my hot dog!

I saw that they've already changed their menu (will edit it in my previous post on Rounz), since i only go there on saturday and the only flavour of donuts i tasted is Banana, i got myself some strawberry donuts..

It's sweet... taste good as well, but i still prefer banana donuts!

So next time, if you are going to Kompleks Karamunsing... must drop by Rounz ya!!!

Little Italy

Bites Tale : My friend asked me to make her a cheesecake for her birthday... You should see how she and my dear react when they saw the cake... they laughed like anything.. she asked me why so plain one... i said i don't wanna spoilt the cake as i am very lousy in cake decorating.. my dear said :"Yalor! this one is the nicest! so you must be happy!" then they continue laughing ...

My friend is very famous for her "picky" taste bud.. she loves food, especially Italian and Japanese cuisine, and has very high expectation on food.

She came back from KL for holiday this week and since it's her birthday.. me and my dear brought her to this restaurant last saturday.. it's my dear's suggestion.. dear said : "Better bring her to a place where we are SURE that the food is very, very NICE!"

Dear was right! The food didn't disappoint her.. and us at all.

Little Italy is one of the finest italian restaurant in KK. I just love this restaurant... i been there few times and each time the food was up to my expectation. Service was great and the staff there are very attentive and helpful. The only set back is that the place is always packed and sometimes we need to wait for our table.. but i always go there early so that i won't have to wait.. and we were really lucky cos we arrived there at 7.30pm and got the last table left there.. after that we saw a queue for table. (Phew!)

My favourite is the Spinach Ravioli with ricotta cheese served in spicy arabiata sauce ... really, really yummilicious!!!

Since it was my friend's birthday, the restaurant gave her a complimentary chocolate mousse.. it tasted heavenly too. We pay RM96 for all these including drinks, not bad huh?

My friend's verdict - she was very surprised and delighted that there is such a fine italian cuisine restaurant in KK.. she said she must s her bf about dinner at Little Italy.

Oh ya... did i tell you that her bf is a well known italian cuisine chef?

So, if you are craving for authentic and delicious italian cuisine next time, don't miss this!

Bites Tale : I'm a hopeless impulsive buyer.... don't know whether i should blog about this... i'm afraid i'll scared you and him off!!!

This is one of my favourite spot for a good treat to my stomach... ;P

What more could we ask for? The food here is considered much, much cheaper than other places and most importantly, the cooking is good.

They served almost everything here, from chinese dishes like pork ribs, stir fry vege, sweet and sour fish and etc, to normal fried noodle, fried rice... BBQ chicken wings, fried chicken wings, dumplings and grilled fish and the cooking is really good that sometimes it is just too difficult to decide what i really want to eat. Even though my friends and i already reached an agreement to go there with only 1 purpose in mind i.e. to order their fried rice vermicelli and only that.. but ended up ordering other food like grilled fish, BBQ chicken wings and dumplings. (We just ain't satisfied sticking to only 1 dish!)

Too bad i only have 2 photos to show you here because i always forgets to snap before i eat but i hope these 2 pics are enough to make you hungry.. (gosh.. i'm so bad!)

So if you ever go to Lotus for dinner / supper and saw a table with only 3 - 4 person but ordering lots of food... and a crazy female who keep ordering milo (i don't know why... i love the hot milo they serve there.. the others kopitiam in KK just serve very "thin" milo for my taste)... that could be me!

My new addiction - Mini Donuts from Rounz

Bites Tale : I had a nightmare last nite and couldn't sleep well... but i must concentrate... too much work to do. :(

I love donuts... though there are no Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Kreme (to which, i know one day i'll have the chance to get my hands on the oh-so-famous Krispy Kreme donuts that are not available in Malaysia) here.. but luckily there are some entrepreneurs in KK who start selling this Rounz Mini Donuts..


At RM3.50 for 8 pcs / RM5 for 12 pcs... the donuts are slightly expensive but they do taste good. Texture is slightly different from the normal donuts we can easily get from other bakeries (that's the secret ingredient they use) ... and the donuts comes in different flavours.

However, instead of letting the customers chose what flavour they want, Rounz has set it according to the days, i think that's because they need to mix the flavour into the batter.. and it is not a big outlet with lots of staff working so they can't afford to let you choose.

One thing i must mention here is, i like to see how the donuts are made... why? Because the machine they are using is cute! hahaha... take a look yourself! (I've took a short video on the whole process of how their donuts are made... just click the video i put here if you are interested to watch!)


Once the donuts are cooked, they will sprinkle some icing on top..


And ... if you are a sweet tooth like me, you can request them to put chocolate/vanilla toppings on the donuts... or even both! Just like how they did mine... (of course, with an additional RM1.00 per toppings la!)

I'll be trying their hot dogs next time... yes, they sell hot dogs too! I am very interested to try their 8" long chicken hot dog... but was sold out when i went there... so i'll be going there again soon.. this time, i'll call and make reservation 1st.. hahahaha... i'm serious... to avoid dissappointment mah.. the owner also said ok for me to call.. *evil grin*...
