Kek Lok Si Temple - Temple of Supreme Bliss, Penang

Bites Tale : 我才知道我那么没智慧。

Kek Lok Si is one of the famous temple in Penang.

We didn't walked up the staircases to the Pagoda of the Ten Thousand Buddha this time as the weather is too hot so the driver drove us up to the temple on top of the hill.

I remember the Goddess of Mercy statue is very tall and big... not like this.. where only half of her body was put on the balcony of the temple. They took this old statue down so that they could build a new one, which is still under construction.

We didn't went into the temple as there is a woman inside setting up a table. So we just have a peek there and spent our time taking pictures at the garden before we went off.

They do have a nice fish pond here.... just nice for us to rest and to enjoy some breeze especially when the weather is so hot.

The weather is just too hot for us to spend anymore time here, and there's not much to see since the statue of the Goddess of Mercy is still under construction and we didn't walk up the stairs of the pagoda where there will be lots of people selling carving of statues / animals, beads and etc.

But you can see a magnificent view of Penang from the top of the hill where the temple is at.

P/S: Off track a little, Air Asia is having Mad Mad Sale to Indonesia from RM10.... Feel like going to Bali again... but sure cannot... i'm broke now, and i have another trip coming soon... sigh.

Coffee Tree - Fine Coffee & Chocolate In Town

Bites Tale : I have been feeling sick for 2 days... :(

No, it's not in KK. Coffee Tree is in Penang.

We didn't ask the driver to bring us here, but as some of you might know, drivers/tourist guides will earn commission from some of the local shop for bringing tourists to them...this is a practice everywhere.. even in Phuket or KK itself. Of course, there's no obligation for you to make any purchase. It's all up to you.

This place sells all kinds of coffee.. e.g. white coffee, coffee with no sugar, coffee with coconut, coffee tiramisu, coffee with orange and much more. They also sell chocolate drinks here. And you could taste every one of them before you buy.

There is a chocolate section too... it's local chocolate i think... we didn't buy any of the chocolates as they are not appealing to us. But we bought, i think, 10 packets of coffee. And if i remember correctly, with every purchase of 4 packets, they will give you a packet for free.

We thought of not buying at 1st, but ended up buying as we all love coffee and this coffee is not available at supermarkets in KK, by the way, it tasted nicer that "Old Town White Coffee". But then, the price is also more expensive in comparison.

Burmese Buddhist Temple, Penang

Continue from the Wat Chayamankalaram entry...

We came out from Wat Chayamankalaram which is a Thai Buddhist Temple, and just across the street is another temple - Burmese Buddhist Temple.


















I do not know what is the difference between the 2 temple but i notice there are many of the "flying dragon", you'll see what i mean in the photos here. We just walked around the garden outside the temple and didn't went in as we saw people praying.

We didn't spend much time in this temple as we wanted to quickly visit all the tourist spots then go for shopping... which we regretted...

For those who are going on Star Cruise Trip, please don't miss the night shows as the performance is very interesting and there will be a short briefing regarding the place the ship will be docking the next day... the emcee will provide useful info such as how much a taxi will cost, where to shop and places to visit and where / what time should you gather to go down from the ship.

Meatball's New Job

Bites Tale : Went to have "Luk Luk" for the 1st time at lintas last night with my "Makan" gang, it was real fun... we were actually on our way for crab supper but we changed plan when we saw "Luk Luk" lorry. Long time didn't do this crazy thing with my gang...

I've started work already since April Fool's Day.

Lot's of things to do (and don't get me wrong, this is NOT a complaint) and of course, to learn... and i enjoy working with all the wonderful people here.

Meanwhile, look what i saw last night when i was having supper with my Makan gang at Lintas... (umm.. ya, we had our supper No. 1 at a cafe and Luk Luk is our supper No. 2)..

This is what i called "Full Body Relaxing".

Will continue updating the Star Cruise Trip next week.
